Background
Elected to represent the Kingstone Ward in 2004 and re-elected in 2008. I decided to stand as an Independent because I do not like to be told what to do and can therefore represent my constituents without any political party whip on my back.

Positions
I sit on the Planning Regulatory Board, the Regeneration Scrutiny Commision and I am a member of the Bernaslai Homes Board. I am Finance Spokesperson and Secretary for the Barnsley Independent Group.

Achievements
Since being elected I have I have always taken a keen interest in housing and in particular the building of affordable homes for our youngsters who cannot at present get on the housing ladder.

Locke Park has always been close to my heart and I work closely with the Friends of Locke Park in their efforts to improve the facilities.

For a number of years we have employed a community caretaker to keep our streets clean, perhaps you have seen him.

In various locations we have paid for out of our funding the removal of shrub beds to free up extra on-street parking
